New Delhi. The Commission has taken into consideration representations received from different political parties and also inputs from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India and the State Government of Jharkhand with regard to the date of first phase of polling in General Election to Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. After due consideration, the Commission has decided that the polls for the first phase of election to Jharkhand Legislative Assembly shall be taken on 25th November, 2009 instead of 27th November, 2009 as earlier communicated vide Commission’s Press Note ECI/PN/58/2009 dated 23rd October, 2009. The new schedule for the first phase of election to Jharkhand Legislative Assembly will now be as under: -

1st Phase

Date of Issue of Notification 31. 10.2009 (Saturday)

Last date for making nominations 7-11-2009 (Saturday)

Date for scrutiny of nominations 9.11.2009 (Monday)

Last date for withdrawal of candidatures 11.11.2009 (Wednesday)

Date of Poll, if necessary 2511.2009 (Wednesday)

Date before which the election shall be completed 31-12-2009 (Wednesday)

Hours of poll: 7 AM to 3 PM

Counting shall be held, on 23-12-2009 (Wednesday)

Polling for 30ACs will be held in the first phase on 25.11.2009 (Wednesday)

The schedule for election in the remaining four phases shall remain unchanged.
